Experience wonders that cannot be seen without venturing below ground in the hands of experienced guides. Explore Caves and Potholes with difficulties ranging from mild (fun for the whole family) to severe (for adventurers up for a challenge). Climbing
The Yorkshire Dales boasts some of the finest climbing in the UK. The famous Malham cove is only 10 miles away. More locally there are a number of crags which offer a bewildering array of routes from easy ( great for beginners) to impossible( experts only). From the Bunkhouse Trow Gill and Robin Procter Scar crags are assessable on foot. Both Crags are bolted for sports climbing.
Walking
The Yorkshire Dales are famous for their amazing walks and trails, and Clapham is the starting point for many of the most beautiful and relaxing walks around. The renowned Three Peaks can be started from Clapham, and encompasses the local Nature Trial (leading to Ingleborough Showcave), Trow Gill and Gaping Gill – the largest cave in the country. Majestic Pen-y-ghent, the traditional starting peak of the beautiful walk, leads from Horton in Ribblesdale and stands at 2,277 feet (694 m). From Pen-y-ghent you then proceed to Whernside, which spans over the valleys of Chaple-le-dale and Kingsdale and stands at 2,415 feet (736 m). Then onto the final peak, Ingleborough, which stands at 2,375 feet (724 m) and holds at its summit the remains of an Iron Age fort. This is only one of the wonderful walks that cover the Dales. Enjoy relaxing and beautiful scenery, left to explore alone or in the hands of an experienced professional guide, who’ll lead you through the walks with information on local peaks, trials and geology. After completing these walks you are welcome to relax and unwind afterwards in the comfort of the warm Bunkhouse bar.
